My love for art began before I can remember and has thrived throughout school where I completed a fine art at GCSE and A-level. Drawing and oil painting have been an interest to me in particular, however I still love to learn new techniques and use new mediums. Within the last year and a half I found I enjoyed creating landscapes using a palette knife, producing pieces with an impasto technique.
After moving to Newcastle last September to pursue a degree in Biomedical Sciences at University, I found that I was so busy that I forgot just how much I loved painting. Using free time I had in lockdown I decided to find my spark in art again.
I have realised that regardless of what I decide to do in the future, art will always be my passion.
My latest works are prominent with my impasto technique where I focus on the colour palette and movement in the strokes with the palette knife. Whilst looking at a piece with this technique, the eyes move from one mark to another and the motion of the landscape comes to life.
